The 'Sikiennice' (Cloth Hall) in Krakow's main square. It was
built 600 years ago to serve as a sort of clearing house for cloth and
other goods. Now it contains mostly souvenier shops and Polish crafts.
There is a museum on the upper floor but I didn't go in. I like watching
things that move more than paintings and buildings. The main square
is one of Europe's largest. There are lots and lots of souvenier
vendors, musicians, sword-swallowers, fire jugglers, and so forth.
Bring plenty of small change here to contribute to these artists if you
sit down at one of the many cafes for a drink. They entertain you
and your guests while you relax, and expect a small fee in return.
Far off to the left, I think, is a monument to Adam Mickiewicz, the Polish poet. |

A folk music group I encountered. I was later told they are from Czestochowa. That's what their sign said. |
